What are acoustic luminaires – and what are they good for?

Acoustic luminaires combine lighting and sound absorption in one product. They reduce reverberation and improve speech intelligibility, while simultaneously providing low-glare light.

How much does the SITAS acoustic luminaire improve room acoustics (absorption values)?

The acoustic performance depends on the mounting. With the 24-mm PET absorber used, the values are aw 0.50 (direct mounting), aw 0.65 (50 mm distance), and aw 1.00 (200 mm distance); the NRC reaches up to 0.95 depending on the distance. This allows the effect to be specifically controlled via the installation/suspension situation.

What light color, brightness, and glare control does the acoustic luminaire offer?

The SITAS Light module operates at 4000K (neutral white) and provides approximately 3190–3430 lm at 30 W, depending on the module. The microprism cover ensures low-glare light suitable for workplaces.

Is the acoustic luminaire dimmable and suitable for modern control systems?

Yes. The module is DALI-dimmable, making it well-suited for office and school projects in Switzerland where light zones or scenes are planned.

How is the acoustic luminaire mounted, and how do I plan the suspension height?

The luminaire is supplied for self-assembly; the suspension is height-adjustable. As a guideline: Above tables, acoustic luminaires are hung so that they illuminate the surface without glare, and at the same time are as close as possible to the sound source. A specialist is recommended for electrical installation.

For products exceeding the standard pallet size of 80 x 120 cm, delivery (to avoid transport damage) is made on disposable pallets. These will not be taken back.
