Magical fiber from the Highlands
From what animal does cashmere goat hair come?
Cashmere is associated with fine, warm wool. However, the robust guard hair of the cashmere goat is also used, for example, for tretford carpets. The cashmere goat, which lives in the extreme weather conditions of Asia, differs significantly from the European domestic goat.

The fine wool of the cashmere goat
What are the characteristics of cashmere goat hair?
In autumn, the cashmere goat grows fine wool to protect itself from the cold, and sheds it in spring. Up to 200 grams of this particularly fine wool are obtained per animal – much finer than sheep's wool.

A sustainable raw material for durable carpets
The benefits of cashmere goat hair
The robust top hair is gently harvested by hand without harming the animals. It is durable, easy to care for, dirt-repellent, and ensures brilliant colours. It also improves indoor air quality and reduces fine dust and impact sound – ideal for a variety of rooms and furnishings.
